Things that are happening at church.
Number 1.
We all welcome the arrival of NORMA RAO as our new Rector. We all wish her every success at St Michael's and hope she will be with us for many years to come.
Number 2.
Ali, our curate, is leaving us and is going to be the Vicar of Worsbrough with Elsecar. This has 2 churches, Worsebrough St Mary and Elsecar Holy Trinity. She will be taking up her new post on 2nd April 2008 and her last service at St Michael's will be on 24th February 2008. Ali has been a Godsend to us during the Interegnum and she will be missed. We wish her well in her new parish.
Number 3.
Judith Hilton, one of our Churchwardens, has asked the PCC to be able to take a temporary leave of absence from her duties due to personal reasons. The PCC has asked David Liddle to take over from her as Churchwarden until she feels able to return.
Number 4.
We are now 'officially' a child friendly church. We have put in a lot of work in the last 12 months or so and our work has been recognised and we have been awarded a certificate for being Child Friendly.
There are various activities specifically aimed at children but, please,
DO NOT BE AFRAID TO BRING YOUR CHILDREN TO THE MAIN SERVICE. We do not expect them to be quiet, children never can be (Can they? Mine never did). We have a KFC in church. Sorry to get your hopes up but there is no chicken involved. This is Kids For Christ, where the children can do activities suited to their ages during the main service.
If you are still not sure then came to the last Sunday of the month where the service is geared to All Ages and is much more relaxed.
